About Us
Stellaluna
Circle is named after the popular children's book, Stellaluna, about a baby bat
who falls into a robins' nest. The baby
bat, Stellaluna, is accepted into the robins' nest by the robins, but she never
feels in sync with them. She wants
to sleep during the day, she looks different, and she is different than the robins around her. Eventually
Stellaluna finds her way back to
her mother as her mother constantly searched for her, much as many of
us found our way to the Goddess as she constantly found ways of
searching us out. At home, Stellaluna is accepted and no longer feels
different from everyone around her.
Many of us on the Goddess path have felt slightly out of
step with the people around us or the religions in which we were raised. Stellaluna Circle is a place where our
differences are praised and accepted. A place where
those of us exploring our spirituality and learning what it is to be a Witch
can be accepted for who we are and for our unique, singular talents.
While Stellaluna is a Goddess worshipping coven and an all women's coven, we do not adhere to strict dogma. All traditions and teachings offer some wisdom, so creating our rituals and degrees from a variety of sources enables us to continue learning and growing. To that end, Stellaluna is a teaching coven, offering degrees and classes to those who are dedicated to the Goddess and following the path of the witch. With the theory that those who participate learn more readily than those who watch, Stellaluna meets once a week for learning meetings or for ritual, with every full moon being a ritual date with active participation from its members.
At this time we are opening our hearts and doors to new students, seekers, and members. You can find out more about that on our Membership page. If you are interested in participating in open events with us, see our Events page.
